The parish of Taumarunui requested two stained glass windows to be placed in the sanctuary of their church. It was important for them to have a New Zealand theme; this is evident with the kereru, the kowhai and harekeke. The mountain ranges represent the Tongariro National Park and the ranges of Hikurangi. The 3 panels at the bottom of each window represent themes that are important to the parishioners of the church. (Click on an image to enlarge it). |
I worked on 3 of the 5 altar windows for Saint John’s Church church in Matarawa on the West Coast of New Zealand. We attended the centenary of at Matarawa on Sunday 3rd August 2008. We were made to feel very welcome by the community and we enjoyed our day. During the centenary service the Stained Glass Windows were blessed by the Reverend Graham Body. Thank you to all for making us feel so welcome and for the lovely afternoon tea! (Click on an image to enlarge it). |
